Searching rescue sites (didn't want a puppy and we had always adopted rescue pets), I came across THE ONE. Wrigley was a rescued pekingese who was found as a stray in Jackson, MI. He has some eye problems ("dry eyes") which created some scar tissue so he has several blind spots. He's also not the friendliest dog - he loves me, but has a tendency to growl and even snap at others (including my kids, their friends, my husband (tho that has recently stopped), visitors, etc.). He has really bad teeth, so the bites don't do much more than scratch and scare, but still... I do recognize that it's not a good thing.
Anyway - back to the topic. Mark knew I wanted a dog. I knew he didn't. He wasn't (and still isn't) thrilled with the dog I picked. I love him to death. Wrigley has some housebreaking issues (he can't really "hold it" all day) and isn't adverse to relieving himself in the family room (I know, yuck), but he's little and all day is really a long time...
My husband loves me, and more than any words, flowers, gifts, hugs, etc. - being "not completely adverse" to adding Wrigley and even more so, "not completely adamant" that we find him another home, shows me just how much. Love you babe!
